Aurike Quintelier is een architect wiens praktijk zich uitstrekt over het ontwerpen van gebouwen, site-specifieke installaties, tekeningen, en verzamelingen. De focus ligt op de verbinding tussen mens en plek, met 'plek’ als de biotoop, het organisme waar we als mens deel van uitmaken. Ze graaft voorzichtig naar bestaande symbiotische relaties, legt onderzoekend verhalen bloot die er al zijn en acht zo die verbinding beter te begrijpen. De architectuur is waar mogelijk vernaculair, met zorg voor de materialen/planten/wezens reeds aanwezig, en met een grote link naar de geopolitieke en/of historische context.
Quintelier studeerde af als architect in 2015 aan KU Leuven in Gent, waarna ze twee jaar stage liep bij het Zwitserse architectenbureau lvph architectes in Fribourg. Toen ze terugkeerde naar België werkte ze als architect onder andere voor murmuur architecten, Perneel Osten Architecten, Tim Peeters en WVDB architecten. In tussentijd bouwde ze haar eigen architectuurpraktijk verder uit. In 2022-2023 deed ze een jaar artistiek/architecturaal onderzoek aan UTAS in Australië, en sinds 2024 geeft ze ook les aan LUCA School of Arts in Gent.

The focus lies on the connection between people and place, with 'place' as the biotope, the organism of which we, as humans, are a part. By carefully digging for existing symbiotic relations, uncovering stories that are already there, she aims to better understand the connection. Where possible, the architecture is vernacular, showing care for the materials, plants, and beings already present, and maintaining a strong link to the geopolitical and/or historical context.
